Sweater Weather, I LOVE YARN DAY Sale, and those beautiful fall leaves

Maybe the rains in September played with our sense of time, or maybe I've just been so busy lately that the slip from summery greens to the colors of autumn seem as though it happened all at once, which, I grant you is a bit odd for me to say since I've been going on about fall weather, autumnal flavors, fall yarn projects, and the harvest for weeks and weeks now. Yet, every morning for the past three weeks as I've driven to my other job, and then every afternoon when I'm travelling across East Lake Road to go open the store, I find myself marveling at the intricate beauty of the leaves as we near the peak of their autumnal color show and wondering how in the world we find ourselves in the first full week of October.

People can say what they want about Erie and criticize our Lake-induced weather, but I think they'd be hard-pressed to ignore how stunning Erie can be in the autumn. I passed by the Forts Presque Isle marker on Front Street earlier today, and it's just so breathtaking with the trees along the bluff and the Bay out ahead.

THIS is the weather and time of year that many of us yarnies long for, revel in, feel most at home as we can bundle up in our woolies and breathe in the spicy scent of fallen leaves, wet earth, and the faint snatches of smoke from chimneys.

Maybe that's why I LOVE YARN DAY is always in October... so that it can take advantage of the time of year when our love for yarn is most prominent that we can't help but share that love publicly (which is the whole point of I LOVE YARN DAY).

And because we all love yarn so much, tomorrow (Friday, October 7) and Saturday (October 8--actual I Love Yarn Day), almost all stock at HW is 10% off! (Excluded items include already discounted Clearance items, used books, Ravelry patterns, and Berroco DropShip orders.)

So, come out tomorrow or Saturday and take advantage of some great yarn savings as our next sale won't be until Black Friday.
